Katwijk has been known as an artists' village since 1873, far beyond the national borders. The indirect coast, the particularly beautiful skies, the previous hard fishing life and the vibrant beach life today are a source of inspiration for national and international artists. Your guide, who is also a local artist and art teacher, takes you every Saturday with lots of love and full of (art) historical stories along the beautiful coast line, the boulevard and the village of Katwijk. We follow in the footsteps of artists such as Israëls, Blommers, Grobe and Lieberman. Artists who did not only work in Katwijk, but also lived here on and off. Will you join us? The walk takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Participation in the art walk costs 15 euros per person. You can book the art walk here. Payment is made via a payment request/tikkie. The maximum number of participants in the art walk is 15 people. The start/meeting point is at 10:30 am, under the tree in front of the entrance to the Katwijks Museum. Don't forget to take your museum card with you because it is really worthwhile to visit this beautiful museum after the walk. The museum is located in a former shipowner's house built by architect H.J. Jesse.
Tot ver buiten de landsgrenzen staat Katwijk al sinds 1873 bekend als kunstenaarsdorp. De schilderachtige kust, de bijzonder mooie luchten, het vroegere harde vissersbestaan en tegenwoordig het bruisende strandleven zijn al eeuwen een inspiratiebron voor nationale en internationale kunstenaars. Onze Katwijkse gids, die tevens een lokale kunstenaar en kunstdocent is, voert je elke zaterdag met heel veel liefde en vol (kunst)historische verhalen langs de prachtige kunstlijn, de boulevard en het dorp van Katwijk. We treden in de voetsporen van gerenommeerde kunstenaars zoals Israëls, Blommers, Grobe en Lieberman. Kunstenaars die niet alleen in Katwijk gewerkt, maar ook gewoond hebben. Ga je mee? De wandeling duurt ongeveer 1,5 à 2 uur. Deelname aan de kunstwandeling kost 15 euro per persoon. Hieronder kun je de kunstwandeling boeken. Betaling vindt plaats via een betaalverzoek/tikkie. Het maximaal aantal deelnemers aan de kunstwandeling is 15 personen. Het start/verzamelpunt is om 10:30 uur onder de boom voor de ingang van het Katwijks Museum. Vergeet niet om je museumkaart mee te nemen want het is echt de moeite waard om na de wandeling een bezoekje te brengen aan dit prachtige museum, gevestigd in een voormalige rederswoning gebouwd door architect H.J. Jesse.
